The Clown Loach's body is long, lean and arched which is ideal for cutting through the water. True to its name, its body of a Clown Loach is bright orange to yellow, and its fins and tail are bright red. It has two wide, black V-shaped stripes along the sides of its body and a third black stripe running vertically through its eye. It is essential to keep Clown Loaches in groups. Size estimates for Clown Loaches range up to 20–30 cm and with typical adult sizes ranging from 15–20 cm.
