Otocinclus Catfish

The Otocinclus catfish are small fish with a narrow body. They have short fins and a powerful suckermouth, which is designed for grazing on algae in flowing waters in the wild. The rows of armor plating across their body make them unique from other catfish species. These are used as a protection from other fish and rough surfaces. These fish are peaceful in nature and are  known for their algae eating behaviours. They are often placed in large aquariums to keep algae from overgrowing. The Otocinclus grow to around 1-2 inches in length.
