Red Phantom Tetra (Hyphessobrycon sweglesi)

Red Phantom Tetras are a reddish fish with a black dot just behind their head. A female Red Phantom Tetra has a black tip to their top fin in comparison to the males that has a full red top fin. They usually grow up to 2 inches on average and live between 5-10 years. Red Phantoms are commonly a schooling fish that move in small groups of 5 or 6. They can also be considered a semi-aggressive fish due to their fin-nipping habits, meaning that they are not recommended to be in the same tank as long-flowing fin or slow-moving fish. They eat the common dried food such as flakes and pellets, but also thrive on a varied diet between dried food and food like bloodworms, bine shrimp and mosquito larvae.
