Serpae Tetra (Hyphessobrycon eques)

The Serpae Tetra is a popular fish with its deep red colour, a flat but tall body and has a black comma shaped spot behind the gills. The dorsal fin is predominantly black with a white line and all other fins are red. The Serpae Tetra is a peaceful addition tot he aquarium, who prefers to be in groups. They can grow to around 5cm and are an omnivore so will feed on flake and blood worms.
